A neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia, Krewstown is in close proximity to both Bucks County and Montgomery County, bordering Bustleton Avenue to the East, Grant Avenue in the North, Verree Road to the West, and the expansive 1,600-acre Pennypack Park to the South. Krewstown Road bisects the neighborhood right in the middle and includes many features bearing the same name, including, a bridge, a shopping center, and of course the neighborhood.

Krewstown is close to Route 1/Blvd, Interstate 95, and just a 25-minute drive away from Center City. Krewstown is a convenient location that is close to entertainment, shopping, public transport, schools, houses of worship, and much more.

What Kind of Housing Do You Find in Krewstown?

The Krewstown neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia is close to Pennypack Park and a number of major shopping centers. It contains a mix of apartments, duplexes, and single-family homes. The duplexes and apartments tend to be located on the major roads (Surrey Road, Welsh Road, Bustleton Avenue, Grant Avenue) while many of the single family homes are in pockets near Pennypack Park, including off Bloomfield Avenue, Rising Sun Avenue, Alpena Road.

The Krewstown neighborhood is near the Krewstown Shopping Center, Northeast Racquet Club, Aldi Grocery Store, Movie Theatre in Grant Shopping Plaza, Kasmir Super Garden Market, Petrovsky Market, Grant Shopping Center, Whiteman Shopping Center, NetCost Market, and more. The Whiteman Shopping Center contains a Walmart, Lowe’s, Best Buy, and a Furniture Store. There are also plenty of banks, dry cleaners, and restaurants within close proximity to residential areas providing virtually everything you need right there.

Major Highways

Krewstown is extremely close to both Route 1/Blvd and I-95 giving you easy access to Center City.

The nearby Pennypack Park is one of the biggest and most visited parks in all of Philadelphia, which is right on the doorstep of many homes and apartments in the neighborhood. Pennypack Park is about 1,600 acres that includes wetlands, woodlands and meadows. It has an array of hiking, biking and bridle paths, along with playgrounds for children.

Restaurants

There are lots of international award-winning restaurants in Northeast Philadelphia and Krewstown is no exception. Some of the restaurants in Krewstown include Judah Mediterranean Grille a casual Middle Eastern cafe, Andonios Diner a diner with breakfast, lunch and dinner options, Taste Queen Chinese & Japanese Restaurant a traditional Chinese and Japanese restaurant, and Mayura Indian restaurant an Indian cuisine eatery, to name a few.

Public Transport

Septa Train Line

Buses and regional rail lines serve Krewstown, making it relatively easy to commute to the area if you are on public transport. It is close to several SEPTA bus routes and train stations. The closest SEPTA train station is minutes away in neighboring Fox Chase.  Alternatively, you can drive in and out of the neighborhood without too much trouble.
