Just what makes a luxury apartment worth it? In general, a luxury apartment features on-site amenities, great location, better sound control, clean and spacious apartments, and great maintenance service. Of course, there is usually an increase in price. See below for a more complete listing of typical offerings in luxury apartments.

1. Resort-Style Amenities

Generally, luxury apartment complexes offer several amenities that make them more attractive from a lifestyle perspective. These amenities often negate the need to belong to a gym or swim club. Apartment communities now offer not only swimming pools, but gyms, spas, walking trails, parks, and playgrounds. If these communities don’t offer a specific amenity that you are looking for, chances are these amenities exist in close proximity to the apartment community.

2. Great Location

Many luxury apartments are based in excellent locations. These are often near shopping centers, grocery stores, parks, and cultural events/centers. They command a premium in price but the location is a part of the draw for many.

3. Better Safety

While no one can guarantee safety, many higher-end apartments tend to be located in lower crime neighborhoods and typically follow more stringent safety practices like deadbolts on doors, lock changes between residents, secure exterior entrances with intercom systems, surveillance cameras, and more. Ask the building which safety measures they have to confirm.

4. Professional Snow Removal and Lawn Care

If you live in a winter climate, you probably would want to have someone do snow removal regularly to reduce the risks associated with heavy snowfall. Having someone take care of the lawn also increases surrounding aesthetics and makes the whole area more appealing. Better apartment complexes should do both.

5. Larger Sizes

Luxury apartments are usually bigger in size with more bedrooms depending on what you want. This may not always be the case, but it is common to expect larger apartment sizes when you think of luxury.

6. Clean Interiors

Higher-end apartments are usually always delivered to you in pristine condition with professional cleaning. Even if everything is not necessarily new, it should be clean.

7. Better Sound Control

Higher-end apartments are usually built with better sound control measures in place so you may get more peace and quiet and not hear your neighbors as easily.

8. Outdoor Balconies

Many higher-end apartments come with balconies to provide a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience allowing you to relax outside in the privacy of your home.

9. Good HVAC Systems

Often an underrated feature, higher-end apartments usually come with good HVAC systems that are quiet and efficient. There are usually smart controls to make your life even easier.

10. Easy Parking

There usually aren’t any parking issues when it comes to luxury apartments, but you may have to pay for parking.

All these factors are great to have when you rent, so you need to decide what you want and don’t want, and decide whether a luxury apartment is worth it for you.
